Gradually more mares were added to the breeding program. In 2000, stallion Krogs Douglas, bred by Krogman Quarter Horses of South Dakota and Nebraska, was purchased. This red roan stallion has lineage to Wimpy P-1 two times, King - four times, Old Sorrel - two times, and Peter McCue - six times.
The newest stallion, Matthew Twenty Two. His sire, Dual Pep, is number two all-time leading living cutting sire with 2006 2-year-old sale offspring averaging $41,200. Dual Pep's sire, Peppy San Badger, is a 9x cutting AQHA world champion with record books filled of champion offspring.
Another standing stallion born and raised at the ranch is Ima Bit of Luck. Ima Bit of luck has a pleasing color and has produced supreme quality foals. Ima Bit of Luck is by Ima Bit of Heaven, producer of many money and point earners in the working cow, horse, cutting, and reining industry.

The Double R Quarter Horse Ranch was first interested in horses for the simple purpose of personal use on cattle drives, ranch work and the pure pleasure of trail riding. Later a few mares were obtained and an interest in quarter horse breeding began.
With an objective of producing horses for all around use. Particular attention was paid to conformation, disposition and athletic ability of the mares purchased. The focus was on producing foundation bloodlines, which clearly reflects the horses bred at the ranch.
An example is broodmare, Star Dakota Girl 214295. A mare that possesses the great old lines of Oklahoma Star, Three Bars,Tonto Bars Gill, Custus Rastus, Camptown Boy and King breeding.
In 1998, the Double R Quarter Horse Ranch cut their outside breeding program down when stallion Darks Diamond Dancer was purchased. Darks Diamond Dancer, own grandson to AQHA Grand Champion Hall of Fame, Sonny Dee Bar. Darks Diamond Dancer is AQHA ROM, Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, and two times North Dakota State Reserve Champion of show.
